US Senate holds historic first hearing on marijuana legalization bill

The U.S. Senate on Tuesday held a committee hearing on marijuana legalization for the first time in the chamber’s history but took no action.

Switzerland Fully Legalizes Medical Cannabis And Allows Export

Switzerland is to join other European countries that have legalized cannabis for medical purposes. From August 1, patients can get medical cannabis through a medical prescription.

The legalization also allows the export of medical cannabis for commercial purposes through the authorization companies need to request from Swissmedic, the Swiss surveillance authority for medicines and medical devices. Forbes.

House Passes Bill Permitting Weed Ads on TV and Radio

The U.S. House of Representatives this week passed a bill that would permit cannabis advertising on broadcast television and radio stations. The legislation is included as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill, which was passed by lawmakers in the House on Wednesday. High Times.

California Eliminates Cannabis Cultivation Tax

California’s regulated marijuana growers will see relief from some of the taxes that insiders say are stifling the industry with last week’s passage of a bill to eliminate the state’s cannabis cultivation tax. The legislation, Assembly Bill 195, was signed by California Gov. Gavin Newsom on June 30 after receiving broad bipartisan support in both houses of the state legislature the day before. Forbes.
